Consumer Reports about 25 years ago had a study that showed that newer technology snow tires were safer (had more traction) than studded tires.
By sunsetting the use of studded tires we could save millions on unnecessary road repairs. Snow tires are as cheap or cheaper than studded tires.
Having all new state and local governments’ non-emergency vehicle purchases be natural gas cars /trucks would help us in several ways. It would be cheaper to operate these fleets.
Toyota, Nissan, Honda and Ford all make these types of vehicles. The government going with this technology would make more natural gas stations available to the public. Natural gas cars/trucks pollute less than gasoline vehicles.

About four years ago the Legislature decided to let the tribal gas stations stop paying the state gas tax to the state. The tribes could not force this as the state could collect at the point of delivery to the gas tankers instead of at the pump.
This has been estimated to cost as much as $150 million a year. This occurred just before the economy tanked. We can no longer afford this.
Also, eliminate the sales-tax exemption for non-residents in non-border counties.
