People are shocked about the level of greed and corruption surfacing among politicians in this country. It's no surprise really.
If you question people around you, neighbors and others who you may know, about the differences between liberals and conservatives, then you will be shocked.
People in this country are, as a rule, politically ignorant, selfish and frightened.
We, as a people, deserve what we get.
We have been asleep at the wheel. Now we are angry that thieves have transferred the wealth away from the middle class. The ruling class has not been asleep. They are cool and calm and unsympathetic.
Republicans are attempting to take away funding for poor children, remove protective legislation in banking reform, dodge taxes for the extremely rich, subsidize oil companies, eliminate Social Security, support the inflated medical system, and eliminate unions – virtually anything that promotes the health of the middle class in this country, they are against.
Yet, if you look at the polls, we are still hovering around an equal split between liberals and conservatives. We have been brainwashed.
Why else would middle class working people choose to dismantle the same system that created the safety net that was put in place for them? Equally disturbing, why would we choose to transfer the wealth to the upper 1 percent of the population and at the same time remove the tax burden that they should share proportionately?
