Once again President Barack Obama is taking heat for dealing with the failed policies of Ronald Reagan and the two Bushes.
We are again locking horns with Moammar Gadhafi.
Ronald Reagan attacked Gadhafi, but failed to remove him in 1986.
After Gadhafi was identified as responsible for the terrorist attack on Pan Am Flight 103 that killed 270 people, George Bush the first did nothing and later opened negotiations with Libya for compensation to the victims’ families in exchange for lifting trade sanctions and removing Libya from the list of terrorist countries.
Who was the big winner in that deal?
Similarly, Obama inherited a huge budget deficit and failed economy following 30 years of Republican-inspired tax cuts and is blamed for not balancing the budget after two years in office. The fact of the matter is that most of these tax cuts went to the rich.
Since 1980, the highest tax rate was cut from 70 percent to 35 percent and capital gains taxes were cut from 28 to 15 percent.
Republicans are looking to cut taxes while claiming they want to balance the budget.
They are getting great press for claiming to cut the budget by $61 billion.
With a projected deficit of $1.5 trillion, a $61 billion cut will leave a $1.439 trillion deficit. What a joke.
Republicans like to say they are fiscal conservatives, but they have a history of big deficits and failed economic policies.
What worries me is Americans keep buying the same old Republican garbage.
