Imagine for just one moment that it is Dec. 7, 1941 (Pearl Harbor) and Barack Obama is president (not Franklin D. Roosevelt). Imperialistic Japan launches a "kinetic military action" in response to the United States of America cutting off its supply of scrap iron for making ships, planes, and bombs.
Obama comes on the air and tells everyone that Japan has destroyed much of the U.S. Navy but we are not to worry. We are NOT at war.
Japan has only engaged in a “kinetic military action” in response to our bad foreign policy of cutting off their source of humanitarian resources. Therefore we should all go back to work assured that everything is OK and not to worry. Obama has everything under control.
Here is how it would read: Dec. 7, 1941 from the White House briefing of the no-fly zone around Pearl Harbor: “I think what Japan is doing is enforcing a resolution that has a very clear set of goals, which is protecting the Japanese people, averting a humanitarian crisis, and setting up a no-fly zone around Pearl Harbor,” said Ben Rhodes, Deputy National Security Advisor for Strategic Communications. “Obviously, that involves kinetic military action, particularly on the front end.”
Can you say “1984” or “double-speak”?
