Letters to the Editor

His pension check still the same after 17 years

I retired from the state in 1997 under plan 1. At that time, the legislators voted to stop the colas for retirees. Since I retired I haven’t received I single penny more on my retirement check than 17 years ago. I know legislators have received their raises in the past years.

What are they thinking? Isn’t it about time we get some sort of compensation for inflation? Why doesn’t one of them start a bucket challenge to vote something in for us? I would love to have just one of them respond to this letter and explain why this has been overlooked.
