I am amazed that so many intelligent people can overlook the false promise of I-594, the premise being that passing a law requiring universal background checks will reduce gun crime and protect children. Felons and crazies will get their guns and the law abiding will suffer another increment toward the dismantling of the Second Amendment. But, I guess if we pass a universal background checks law nobody will get shot anymore. After all, that’s how we stopped everybody from doing drugs.
