Girls look at boys much differently

I am responding to Miss Crawford’s thoughtful letter of Dec. 4 in which she compared public school dress codes to “institutionalized objectification of women”. The reason there is a difference in expectations of attire between boys and girls in school is that males (young and old) can be distracted by a girl whose clothing barely covers her “privates” but girls are not usually titillated by the sight of a boy’s bare stomach or a glimpse of his underwear.
