Use some common sense crossing busy streets

Dark car. Dark day. Rain or fog. No headlights: I am emerging from a side street and I nearly hit you. Dark night. Jeans and a hoody. You dash across College Street where there are no crosswalks. You think my headlights will pick you up but I nearly hit you. When I get behind my wheel I do three things: Start the engine. Fasten my seatbelt. Turn on my lights (day or night.) I’m not bragging about doing everything right. I do not want to hit you, nor do I want to be hit! Please. Use your headlights. And if there are no crosswalks (which College should have but doesn’t) it is worth it to walk to a lighted one - or at least wear light clothing or reflective tape in the dark.
