How many of you have fallen into the “gap” trap with Medicare D this year? I am an 81-year-old woman who fell into it because of my use of insulin to control my diabetes. I can’t pay the high costs of insulin and other medicines (I’m taking four pills). I know that many of my fellow senior citizens have similar and far greater medical challenges.
So what are we expected to do, stop eating, stop paying our bills, or stop treating our health problems and quietly pass away as our politicians and government seem to want us to do? Like many senior citizens, I’m on a fixed income and struggle to make ends meet every month. I feel it’s time to get together and start writing to our senators and congressmen about the help we seniors need. If our voices are loud enough together, perhaps then we will be heard by our elected officials who may then be willing to actually do something beyond shooing us away with lip service.
If the government can give money to other countries, then why can’t money be spent here to help us in our “golden years?” Please call you friends and start writing to your senators and congressmen, or many of us will be destined to “pass away” because of not being able to afford our medications or treatments. I’m praying for all who are having these problems.
