Arctic should be off limits to oil drilling

U.S. Energy Secretary Ernest Moniz requested a study by the National Petroleum Council on the question of drilling for oil in the Arctic. The commission was chaired by Rex Tillerson, CEO of Exxon Mobil. It should come as a surprise to no one that the commission recommended that we immediately begin to exploit exploration and drilling of oil in the Arctic waters off Alaska.

Obviously no environmental concerns were considered or addressed. Considering the reputation and history of Exxon Mobil and Shell it would be idiotic to trust them in this fragile area. Spills and cleanup would be nearly impossible and neither company, nor any other oil company, should be allowed to put this area at risk.
