Increasing minimum wage would add taxes for state

A $15 minimum wage increase would solve the state’s budget woes – i.e. education shortfall, improve our highways and raise wages for all state workers. A restaurant that pays $10 per hour now would have to increase the price of all menu items by 50 percent of the $10 he was paying on labor. This increase is then passed on to the diner customer. But Washington sales tax of 9% is added on the the total bill.

The state’s $15 wage would be a huge bonanza for state budget woes and add half of what you now pay toward all minimum wage products you purchase. So don’t blame those politicians for raising your taxes. Do the math.
