Climbing

Saturday and Sunday: The sixth annual Rainier Mountain Festival in Ashford will feature a gathering of some of the United States' greatest mountain climbers. The festival, at Rainier Basecamp, 30027 state Route 706, is free to the public.

Volunteers

Saturday and Sunday: Washington State Parks is looking for volunteers for Operation Shore Patrol Days - an annual ocean beach cleanup.

State Parks waives campsite fees for Friday and Saturday the weekend of the cleanup event (hookups not included) at Cape Disappointment, Twin Harbors and Ocean City state parks for cleanup participants. Contact numbers are:

RV show

Today through Sunday: The eighth annual Fall RV & Outdoor Recreation Show brings hundreds of recreational vehicles and seminars to Qwest Field and Event Center in Seattle.

Parking is free if you buy your tickets online at www.mhrvshows.com.

Admission is $8 for adults, $7 for seniors and $5 for children ages 13 through 17. Show hours are 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. today; 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.
