Furry 5K Fun Run
What: The Furry 5K Fun Run is a chance to pound the pavement with your best friend. In this 3.1-mile race, participants run with their dogs on a leash to raise money for the “Help the Animals Fund.”
When: Sunday, registration starts at 8:15 a.m.
Where: Seward Park, 5900 Lake Washington Blvd. S., Seattle
Activities: Running with your dog.
Getting there: From Interstate 5, go east on Interstate 90 to Exit 3, Rainier Avenue South. Turn right on Rainier Avenue and go 3.1 miles to South Orcas Street and turn left. Continue on to Lake Washington Boulevard to the park.
Of note: Online registration is available until midnight tonight at a reduced cost of $20 or $25 with shirt. The “Help the Animals Fund” belongs to the Seattle Animal Shelter, which takes in 8,000 animals each year. Retractable leashes and leashes longer than 8 feet will not be allowed during the race. Dogs must be licensed and current on vaccinations. The race starts at 10 a.m. An award ceremony will be held at 11:15.
