The transition to fall and winter operation schedules has started at Mount Rainier National Park.
The Sunrise Visitor Center is closed for the season. Visitors needing assistance while in that part of the park should look for the roving ranger through Oct. 12. Restrooms are available, however no water is available on weekdays.
The next operation to shut down will be the Paradise Guide House and Climbing Information Center. The guide house is open weekends only through Sept. 27 from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The guide house closes for the season Sept. 28.
Climbers also may register at the Henry M. Jackson Memorial Visitor Center desk or self-register at the Old Paradise Ranger Station.

Teacher programs: The park’s education program staff is offering the several professional development and informational programs this fall.
Oct. 1: Staff will have an information booth at the Annual Education Night at the Museum. Learn about educational options for educators and students.
Oct. 9-10: A Sister Mountains Project Curriculum Review Workshop for middle school teachers.
