What: If you like snowboarding mixed with loud music, Jib This! is the event for you. A jib is anything you can board or ski on that isn't snow (rails, trees, cars, etc). This jib contest features some of the best snowboarders in the Northwest as well as novice walk-up boarders. While, for most, this is a spectator event, it might be you'll be able to stoke your courage to try a low-key jib or two on your own.
When: Saturday. Registration runs from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. in the main lodge at Summit Central.
Where: Central Park, the area’s terrain park
Getting there: Take Exit 53 on Interstate 90, and park at the Summit Central.
Cost: Entry fee is $10. The event is free to watch. Discounted lift tickets are available with registration.
History: This is seventh year of the event.
Also: Helmets are required. Participants younger than 18 will need their parent’s signed consent. Competition categories are open (for cash prize), women, 14 and older and 13 and younger. A park pass is required to use the terrain park. A short safety course is required to get a park pass.
