Auction, dinner raises funds for elk foundation

The Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation's Olympia chapter will have its 25th anniversary Big Game Banquet dinner and auction fundraiser Jan. 30.

The event will feature raffles and games, plus a live auction. Among the auction items are a guided Montana elk hunt, a Southwest Washington black-tailed deer hunt, an elk antler table and a foundation special edition utility trailer.

Proceeds help the foundation’s effort to protect and enhance wildlife habitat. Money raised by the foundation has secured or opened to public access 95,750 acres in Washington for hunting, fishing and other recreation.

The banquet will be at the Little Creek Casino off U.S. Highway 101 near Shelton. Doors open at 4 p.m. with a social hour, games and auction preview; dinner is at 6 p.m. with the live auction at 7 p.m.

The cost to attend is a $35 foundation membership fee, $35 for adult meals and $15 for a youth meal. For reservations and information, call Bruce Watson at 360-470-9742.
