If you're looking for a quick skills tune up, Alpental is offering free 30 minute improvement clinics Saturday and Sunday. These are for intermediate, advanced and expert skiers. People interested in attending should meet at the top of the Armstrong chair at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m.
Clinic topics will depend on snow conditions, participant desire and ability level. Look for the Summit Learning Center Snow Sport staffer holding a “free clinic” sign. For other information, go to www.summitatsnoqualmie.com.

Fresh snow was slowly increasing the avalanche danger mid-week, becoming considerable above 5,000 to 6000 feet and increasing to moderate below. The weekend weather forecast for the Cascades passes calls for scattered light snow or mixed rain and snow showers below about 3,500 feet Saturday becoming partly sunny on Sunday.
