Snow report for March 26

The Summit at Snoqualmie bills Saturday's Pretzels and Polish Donuts as Washington's lone ski-only freestyle event.

Skiers will pull off stunts in the terrain park at Summit Central.

The event is separated into sessions focusing on jibs (riding rails and other features) and jumps.

It’s free to watch and free to participate, but only participants get a discount on lift tickets. Registration starts at 8 a.m.

 • Crystal Mountain’s ninth annual Dirt Bag Ball is this weekend. Tickets are $25 and proceeds benefit the Crystal ski patrol.

 • Sturtevant’s Demo Day is Saturday at Crystal Mountain. Registration starts at 8 a.m. Participants will be among the first to take test runs on 2011 skis.

 • The White Pass Film Festival is still accepting submissions. Submissions must be two to five minutes in length and received by the ski area by April 1. For more details, go to www.skiwhitepass.com.

WEATHER FORECAST

The National Weather Service is predicting a mix of rain and snow on Snoqualmie Pass today, then rain over the weekend.

The Northwest Weather and Avalanche Center Web site says the snow level won’t be any lower than 5,000 feet this weekend in the South Cascades and 4,000 feet in the Olympics.
