Puget Sound Fly Fishers will host a daylong seminar offering tips to improve your success when fishing for trout in lakes.
Fly fishing expert Phil Rowley will present “Conquering Northwest Lakes” April 9 at the Royal Gove Masonic Lodge 230, 3736 S. Sheridan Ave. Tacoma from 9 a.m.-4 p.m.
Rowley will cover topics such as strategies and tactics, 10 habits for success, tips for tough days, hatch guide, fishing with chironomids, how to approach a new lake and the seasons of a lake.
The cost is $65. All profits will go toward the group’s efforts to improve fishing. The organization has assisted with conservation projects such as installing a portable toilet and stocking fish at Cady Lake, helping the Hood Canal Salmon Enhancement Group, providing scholarships for the Northwest Youth Conservation and Fly Fishing Academy, Casting for Recovery, Coastal Conservation Association and Puget Creek Restoration Society.
