BOYS BASKETBALL

Top performers: Blake Wilcox, Stadium; RJ Seacrest, Central Kitsap; Brian Marty, Tumwater -- all three players scored 23 points in their respective games

Stadium 64, Central Kitsap 58: The Cougars and Tigers matchup featured two scorers that wanted to outduel each other on Monday night.

RJ Seacrest of Central Kitsap and Blake Wilcox of Stadium scored 23 points apiece in their matchup, but ultimately, the game would fall to Wilcox.

Aiding his fellow Tigers teammate was Marcel Ferguson, putting up 13 points to ensure the road victory.

Mark Morris 79, Tumwater 74: The T-Birds couldn’t find an answer for Will Burghardt as the senior guard dropped 35 points on the night.

“These are two hard fought teams meeting up,” said Tumwater coach Thomas Rowswell. “We’ve played against each other for the district title two years in a row, hopefully we will see them again.”

Brian Marty led the T-Birds in scoring with 23 points, while Thomas Drayton added another 16.

Life Christian 83, North Beach 58: The Eagles greatly benefited from Luke Lovelady’s 22 points as that lifted them past the visiting Hyaks. Eric Overgaard and Payton Shamp scored 14 points apiece as well.

Pope John Paul II (Lacey) 67, Mount Rainier Lutheran 59: Hieu Vu’s 26 points were just what the Eagles needed to overcome the Hawks, and defend their home court.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Top performer: Nini Figuracion, Mount Tahoma -- scored 30 points in loss to North Thurston

North Thurston 70, Mount Tahoma 50: Despite a 30-point effort to carry the T-Birds, Nini Figuracion couldn’t complete the comeback.

Instead, Quinlan Christian's 20 points were the difference for the Rams to earn the home victory. Brooklyn Harn also reached double-digit scoring by dropping in 14 points on the night.

Todd Beamer 49, Bethel 41: Mackenzie Bond was not shaken, but she did stir up 15 points to help the Titans get past the Braves on Monday night.

Tumwater 59, Yelm 35: The T-Birds Madison Fields and Sierra Snyder combined for 42 points on the night, easily getting the victory over the Tornados.
