Campillo, Rainiers shut out Portland

TACOMA - Jorge Campillo continued his streak of successful starts for the Tacoma Rainiers, pitching seven shutout innings in a 6-0 win over the Portland Beavers on Saturday at Cheney Stadium.

Campillo (9-6) allowed three hits, walked five and struck out four. He has allowed just two runs in his past 21 2/3 innings and is unbeaten in his past five starts.

Jake Woods preserved the lead, pitching two perfect innings in relief.

Bryan Johnson hit his 11th home run, and Rob Johnson went 3-for-4 for Tacoma.

The teams wrap up the series at 1:30 p.m. today at Cheney Stadium.
