Ernie Sims, Tony Scheffler involved in three-team trade

The Philadelphia Eagles acquired linebacker Ernie Sims, a former first-round draft pick, in a three-way deal with Detroit and Denver. Philadelphia dealt a fifth-round pick to Denver, which sent tight end Tony Scheffler and a seventh-round pick to Detroit.

The 25-year-old Sims missed five games last season with shoulder and hamstring injuries.

Scheffler, a three-year veteran, had 31 catches for 416 yards and two touchdowns last season. Each total was a career low.
