Kolb inactive, so Vick will start for Eagles

Michael Vick will start at quarterback for the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday against the Detroit Lions - his first start since his time with the Atlanta Falcons.

Eagles coach Andy Reid made it official Friday when he ruled quarterback Kevin Kolb out for Sunday’s game with the concussion he suffered Sunday against Green Bay. Middle linebacker Stewart Bradley was also ruled out with a concussion.

LOADHOLT PAYS $10,000

The NFL fined Minnesota Vikings offensive tackle Phil Loadholt $10,000 for two unnecessary roughness penalties in their Week 1 game against New Orleans.

Tennessee linebacker Stephen Tulloch was fined $7,500, and Houston running back Arian Foster and cornerback Glover Quin were fined $5,000 each. New England defensive back Patrick Chung, Denver defensive end Ryan McBean, Carolina safety Sherrod Martin and Dallas nose tackle Jay Ratliff also were fined $5,000 each.

NFL commissioner Roger Goodell ruled that the New York Jets will not be penalized with suspensions or fines in the Ines Sainz harassment case, but the team must fund training programs for all 32 teams on “proper conduct in the workplace.” ... By selling a few more tickets, the Lions avoided a local television blackout of their home opener against Philadelphia. ... Falcons receiver Michael Jenkins (shoulder) will miss Sunday’s game against Arizona. ... Steelers left tackle Max Starks (ankle) and nose tackle Casey Hampton (hamstring) did not practice Friday and will not play Sunday.
