Washington's Department of Transportation says travelers heading over the Cascades to Pullman for Saturday's Apple Cup can expect severe winter driving conditions.
A heavy snow fell earlier this week in Eastern Washington and several feet piled up in the mountain passes. The forecast into the weekend calls for more snow and freezing temperatures.
The Transportation Department says it will have crews and snow-clearing equipment out on the roads. Additional crews will be sent to the Palouse as needed.
Washington State University is using extra workers along with plows and dump trucks to remove snow from Martin Stadium in time for the 4 p.m. game Saturday against Washington.
