Against the Cougars: The series is tied, 5-5. Washington State won the last meeting in 2000 in Salt Lake City, 38-21.

Did you know: Utah won nine consecutive bowl games before losing to Boise State in the 2010 Las Vegas Bowl.

Scouting report: The Utes, who joined the Pac-12 this year, have won three consecutive games after an 0-4 start in league play. Junior college transfer John White ranks ninth in the nation with 119.1 rushing yards per game. JC transfer Jon Hays has been asked to do little more than hand the ball off to White since starting quarterback Jordan Wynn is out with a shoulder injury. Senior defensive end Derrick Shelby leads a quality defense that leads the Pac-12 with 19.2 points allowed per game.
