Series: SLU leads the series, 7-6. The last two wins came when Lorenzo Romar was the head coach of the Billikens.
Statistical leaders: For UW – G Abdul Gaddy, 12.3 points per game, 4.7 rebounds per game, 5.7 assists per game; G Terrence Ross 16.3 ppg and 4.0 rpg. For SLU – F Brian Conklin 12.5 ppg and 4.5 rpg.
Scouting report: The Huskies’ first road game of the season should be an enlightening one, particularly for the five freshmen expected to see playing time. The Billikens, under former longtime Utah coach Rick Majerus, will play sticky defense and be efficient offensively. Majerus-coached teams are typically very solid fundamentally and make few mistakes. Watch out for SLU point guard Kwamain Mitchell, who makes the team go with his dribble penetration and passes to open shooters.
