Kenedee Peters, an incoming freshman at Ephrata High School who makes her summer home in Olympia, is one of eight quarterfinalists for Wednesday’s match play at the Pacific Northwest Junior Girls Amateur Championships at the Olympia Country and Golf Club.
Peters, who is also the daughter of former Saint Martin’s golf coach Ray Peters, went 1-up on Hannah Lee of Surrey, B.C., in the round of 16. She’ll face Alisha Lau, the co-medialist from Monday’s stroke play, in Wednesday’s 8:16 a.m. quarterfinal.
Other semifinal matches are: Kaomi Ko vs. Michelle Kim, 8 a.m.; Brittany Kwon vs. Maddie Nelson, 8:08 a.m.; and Ashley Fitzgibbons vs. Marianne Li, 8:24 a.m. Nelson of Sammamish had the day’s upset in the round of 16, eliminating Cecile Kwon of Maple Ridge, B.C., 2 and 1.
