Tracking locals on the PGA Tour

Last week: Wells Fargo Championship, Thursday through Sunday, Quail Hollow Club, Charlotte, N.C..

In the field: Puyallup’s Ryan Moore, University Place’s Michael and Andrew Putnam, and Olympia’s Andres Gonzales.

Moore’s fourth-round score: 2-under-par 70.

Gonzales’ fourth-round score: 1-under 71.

Michael Putnam’s fourth-round score: Even-par 72.

Position: Moore (3-under 283) tied for 47th, and Michael Putnam and Gonzales (1-under 287) tied for 58th — all behind winner Rory McIlroy. Andrew Putnam (5-over 149) missed the cut Friday.

Recap: Moore had the putter going hot much of the round, rolling in long putts at No. 6 (27-footer), No. 8 (30-footer) and No. 14 (25-footer) for birdie. But the Cascade Christian product struggled on the final two holes — he was 5-over on them the final three rounds. ... Gonzales went to 2-under for his round after a birdie at No. 14 (up and down from 35 feet for birdie at short par 4). But a drive into the right rough on the next hole led to a bogey at the par 5. He also bogeyed the 16th hole, but came back with a final birdie at No. 17 (chip-in from 30 feet). ... The older Putnam had the best score going Sunday among the locals, reaching 5-under with four birdies and an eagle in his first 14 holes (eagle came at the seventh hole on 17-foot putt). But an errant greenside bunker shot ended up in the back-end pond at No. 16, leading to a triple bogey 7.

Next: Gonzales and Michael Putnam are in the field for next week’s Crowne Plaza Invitational at Colonial at Colonial Country Club in Fort Worth, Texas. Moore will take the next two weeks off before returning at The Memorial Tournament on June 4.
