TUMWATER - Just as she has all season, Olympia senior Jennifer Liedes continued her string of medalist honors, shooting a 2-over-par 38 at Tumwater Valley Golf Course on Tuesday in the Bears' 109-49 girls golf match win over South Kitsap.
“She’s been consistent as she can be,” said Olympia coach Mike Steen, who noted Liedes is averaging about 38 per nine holes this season.
Liedes, who will golf for the University of Washington next season, earned her eighth medalist honor this season, all in Olympia victories. The Bears (8-0) have a key 4A Narrows League match against Bellarmine Prep on Thursday.
Bailee Syrek and Taylor Parsons shot 49s for Olympia. It was Parsons’ first score under 50 this season, Steen said. Kaleen Mercer shot a 50.
Olympia 145, South Kitsap 109: Dominick Franks’ 1-under 71 at Tumwater Valley kept the Bears undefeated.
Aberdeen 3, Black Hills 0: The Bobcats scored all of their runs in the fourth inning on six hits.
Kendra Henry led Black Hills by going 3-for-3 and Liz Smith was 2-for-2.
Tenino 5, Ridgefield 0: The Beavers remain undefeated after sweeping the Spudders.
Four of the five matches were won in straight sets, but Tenino’s No. 2 doubles team of Kelli Near and Janelle Young needed three to beat Cassidy Reid and Tess Trosko, 2-6, 6-4, 7-5.
Chehalis 11, Tumwater 0: Michael Glasgo (2-for-3) had half of the hits for Tumwater, which committed seven errors.
Chehalis starter Robert Pehl struck out eight.
Aberdeen 2, North Thurston 0: Reilly Fairchild pitched a complete-game, two-hitter for the Bobcats. Charlie Dietrich went 2-for-3 for Aberdeen, driving in both runs.
