Seattle Sounders FC announced the signing of veteran forward-midfielder Pat Noonan on Wednesday.
Noonan, who played for Sounders coach Sigi Schmid in Columbus during the 2008 season when the Crew won the league title, was released by the Colorado Rapids on March 23.
“Pat is a good player who can play a number of different positions on the field and is a very solid professional,” Schmid said in a news release.
Noonan’s best seasons came in New England when he helped the Revolution reach three straight MLS Cup’s from 2005-07. His best individual season was 2004, when he scored a career high 11 goals.
Seattle (1-0) hosts the New York Red Bulls on Saturday.
