Seattle - Fredy Montero scored off a long kick downfield from goalkeeper Kasey Keller in the 64th minute on Sunday night, and Uruguyan World Cup player Alvaro Fernandez added his first MLS goal to help the Seattle Sounders extend their unbeaten streak to five games with a 2-0 victory over the Houston Dynamo.
The Sounders (8-8-4, 28 points) have gone 4-0-1 since a 3-1 loss at Los Angeles on July 4 and have climbed into fourth place in the Western Conference.
The Dynamo (5-9-5, 20 points) saw its winless streak extended to nine games (0-4-5), the longest such dry spell since the club relocated from San Jose after the 2005 season.
In addition to his first point in MLS play, Keller picked up his seventh shutout of the season.
