Look: Demi Moore, Jane Fonda attend Cannes Film Festival opening ceremony

May 13 (UPI) --Demi Moore, Jane Fonda and other stars stepped out Tuesday at the Cannes Film Festival opening ceremony.

Moore, 63, part of this year's festival jury, wore a sequined custom Jacquemus gown to the event and accessorized with Chopard diamond jewelry.

The actress was joined by jury president Park Chan-wook and fellow jury members Ruth Negga, Laura Wandel, Diego Cespedes, Isaach de Bankole, Paul Laverty, Chloe Zhao and Stellan Skarsgard on the steps of the Palais.

Other famous guests included actress Jane Fonda, model and television personality Heidi Klum, actor Elijah Wood and director Peter Jackson.

The Cannes Film Festival will run through May 23. This year's festival opened with a screening of La Venus electrique (The Electric Kiss), a romantic comedy-drama directed by Pierre Salvadori and starring Pio Marmaï.

The coming lineup will include screenings of Amarga Navidad by Pedro Almodovar, Paper Tiger by James Gray, Hope by Na Hong-jin, Her Private Hell by Nicolas Winding Refn and other films.

Moore most recently starred in the body horror film The Substance, which was nominated for the Palme d'Or and won Best Screenplay at the 2024 Cannes Film Festival.
