Comedian, podcaster Adam Carolla gets star on Hollywood Walk of Fame

May 28 (UPI) -- Comedian and podcaster Adam Carolla was presented with a star on Hollywood Walk of Fame Wednesday, his 62nd birthday.

"It is also kind of ironic that I am getting into the Walk of Fame for radio. Radio! It's 2026 and I'm in for radio. That's basically like being inducted into the Typewriter Repair Hall of Fame," Carolla quipped.

He went on to describe radio as his "first love" and said he listened to it when he commuted to construction jobs or worked alone before he became famous.

"Radio was always there for me," Carolla said.

Among the celebrities who turned out to honor the Emmy winner were Jimmy Kimmel, Dr. Drew Pinsky, Byron Allen and Joel McHale.

Kimmel called Carolla a "true original" and the "Laverne to my Shirley," adding he was proud of him and has never worked with anyone funnier.

"The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce is proud to welcome Adam Carolla to the Hollywood Walk of Fame," Ana Martinez, Walk of Fame producer, said in a press release.

"Adam has entertained audiences for decades with his sharp wit, originality, and influential voice in radio, television and podcasting. We know that his many fans will be thrilled to see his name on a coveted Walk of Fame star."
