Driver suffers medical event and causes crash
A 36-year-old Gig Harbor man was injured in a one-vehicle crash near Hoquiam on Friday.
According to the Washington State Patrol: The man was driving a blue 2000 Nissan Quest minivan southbound on state Route 109, just north of Harborview Court, when he suffered a medical event. The minivan crossed the center line and northbound lane and came to rest in brush about 30 feet off of the roadway. The crash was reported at about 2:45 p.m.
The driver, who was not cited, was taken to Grays Harbor Community Hospital in Aberdeen for injuries. Drugs and alcohol were not a factor in the crash.
