A Tumwater man died Wednesday morning after he suffered a medical emergency while driving in Grays Harbor County, according to the Washington State Patrol.

After notifying next of kin, the State Patrol identified the man as Richard E. Armstrong, 71.

About 8 a.m. Wednesday, Armstrong was headed north on state Route 105, near Westport, when he stopped his vehicle because of the medical emergency.

The vehicle then rolled across the fog line and into some bushes. The man died at the scene, according to the State Patrol.
