Fire damages Olympia’s abandoned Bailey’s Motor Inn

Fire damaged a portion of the Bailey’s Motor Inn early Sunday, according to the Olympia Fire Department.

Bailey’s Motor Inn has been closed since 2013 and a fence has been erected along Martin Way to keep trespassers off the property.

Olympia fire crews, including additional units from Lacey Fire District 3, were dispatched to the fire at 3333 Martin Way E. about 3:15 a.m. Sunday.

The fire was contained to the second floor of one of the six buildings on site. No one was found inside the building, although “unauthorized persons have been seen in this building in the past,” according to the Olympia Fire Department news release.

No utilities are connected to any of the buildings.

Martin Way was closed for about two hours Sunday morning.
