Man loses both legs in motorcycle crash in Olympia
A motorcycle rider severed both his legs when he struck a metal sign in the Swantown Marina parking lot in Olympia Wednesday night.
Olympia police and firefighters responded when the crash was reported at 11:04 p.m. The victim is a middle-age man, according to Lt. Paul Lower, spokesman for the Olympia Police Department.
The victim was driving north on Marine Drive when his motorcycle left the roadway, Lower said. Police do not believe another vehicle was involved, he said.
The patient was stabilized and taken to Providence St. Peter Hospital. Due to patient privacy regulations, no other information was available on his condition.
