Wolf Haven International, a Tenino-based wolf sanctuary, received international accreditation in September from the Global Federation of Animal Sanctuaries.

Becoming a member of the Global Federation of Animal Sanctuaries requires that agencies meet guidelines for animal care and peer reviewed standards for operations, administration and veterinary care.

“As a sanctuary, we provide a safe, lifetime home where the wolves are free to express themselves and be appreciated for who and what they are,” executive director Diane Gallegos said in a press release.

Wolf Haven International opened in 1982 and has provided sanctuary to more than 200 wolves.
