At Forest Funeral Home: The public is invited to an open house, 10 a.m.-2 p.m., at Forest Funeral Home Cemetery and Cremation, 2501 Pacific Ave. SE, Olympia. Grave-marker cleaning supplies will be available, as will light refreshments. Explore some circa 1900 vintage photos on loan.

Woodlawn Memorial Day Tribute: A Memorial Day commemoration, 3:30 p.m. at Woodlawn Funeral Home Cemetery and Cremation, 5930 Mullen Road, SE, Lacey. The event includes the American Legion Band and a tribute program at 4 p.m., presented by the American Legion Post No. 94 and Woodlawn Funeral Home. Also participating are Veterans of Foreign Wars, No. 318 and Boy Scout Troop No. 007. Appetizers will be served. Grave-marker cleaning supplies will be available.

Wear Blue: Run to Remember will begin the day with its annual Memorial Day run. The event typically draws more than 1,000 participants. It kicks off at 9 a.m. in DuPont’s Powderworks Park. For more information, go to wearblueruntoremember.org

Rotunda: The Capitol Rotunda in Olympia opens at 10:30 a.m. for a service hosted by the Thurston County Veterans Coalition.

JBLM: Joint Base Lewis-McChord is having its Memorial Day observance at the Fort Lewis Cemetery at 11 a.m. Base Commander Col. Daniel Morgan is to lead the ceremony.

Mills & Mills Memorial Park Cemetery: 5725 Littlerock Road SW, Tumwater, will host an observance at 2 p.m

DuPont: DuPont’s official Memorial Day observance is set to begin at 2 p.m. in Ross Plaza.

The Washington Soldiers Home: Ceremony at 2 p.m. The soldiers home is at 1301 Orting Kapowsin Highway in Orting.

Lacey Community blood drive: Donate from 1-6 p.m. at Charter College, 4520 Lacey Blvd. SE, Lacey. Download the American Red Cross blood donor app, go to redcrossblood.org or call 800-733-2767 to make an appointment or for more information. A blood donor card or driver’s license or two other forms of identification are required at check-in. High school students and other donors 18 years of age and younger must meet height and weight requirements.

Bezango, WA” documentary screening: “Bezango, WA” chronicles the art, history and lives of prominent Seattle-area cartoonists and comic artists. 6:30 p.m. at the Lacey Timberland Library, 500 College St. SE. A Q&A with directors Louise Amandes and Ron Austin, and South Sound comic artists will follow. Free.

Friday

Ohio Northern University National Tour Choir: The First United Methodist Church will present a concert at 7 p.m. in the church sanctuary, 1224 Legion Way SE, Olympia.
