Man arrested after domestic violence call, fire in Lacey
A man was taken into custody Friday following a domestic violence incident and fire at a Lacey home.
Lacey police Sgt. Jaime Newcomb said officers were dispatched to the home around 2 p.m. after reports of a dispute between a man and a woman. While officers were en route, a second call came in reporting that the home was on fire.
Lacey Fire District 3 responded and extinguished a fire in the garage, and a cat was rescued from the home.
Newcomb said police and fire officials are still investigating the cause of the fire.
The man was arrested at the scene and taken to the Thurston County Jail. No weapons were found on his person, Newcomb said.
Two other occupants were able to leave the home without injury.
The man is expected to appear in court on Monday. The Olympian doesn’t report the names of suspects until they have made a court appearance.
