Olympia residents might hear gunshots as movie films in late May
Residents of Olympia’s northeast neighborhood might hear gunfire at the end of the month while a movie is being shot in the area.
Lt. Paul Lower said Friday he doesn’t have much information about the movie itself, but the film crew has been issued a permit. Neighbors will receive letters about the project.
Production could include bright lights and the firing of blanks on May 21 and again May 23-28.
At this time of year, the city is notified of two to three projects filming around town each month, Lower said. Last year, one group filmed a project about cats stuck in trees.
“You would be surprised,” Lower said. “Starting in May and going through the summer, we get a lot of notices about filming around town.”
