Morgan to enter assessor race today

Glen Morgan of Tenino will kick off his Republican campaign for Thurston County assessor at 11 a.m. today at the Medicine Creek Winery, at 947 Old Pacific Highway S.E. near Nisqually.

Morgan says he has 15 years of experience with small business and managing startup companies. He has qualms about the way property tax assessments are done.

When doorbelling in the Rochester School District area, he said, he was told the biggest reason given for voting against a school levy was that property tax valuation “had lost all credibility.’’
