Moses Lake man arrested on suspicion of child rape

An 18-year-old man was arrested in Moses Lake Wednesday after he allegedly sexually assaulted a child.

The Grant County Sheriff's Office arrested Hunter Gray of Moses Lake, following a weeks-long investigation that began in May, when the alleged victim told an adult about sexual assault that had started in February, according to a post from the sheriff's office on Facebook.

Investigators discovered inappropriate communication between Gray and the child through social media before the assault started.

Gray was arrested on suspicion of second-degree child rape and communication with a minor for immoral purposes during a traffic stop in Moses Lake and transported to the Grant County Jail.

Anyone with information about the case should call the sheriff's office at 509-762-1160.
