Myra Road, State Route 125 intersection to open to traffic June 10
The intersection of Myra Road and State Route 125 is scheduled to reopen to traffic on Wednesday, June 10.
The city said in a Tuesday, June 9, news release that the crews were reinstalling barriers along the roadway.
The new roundabout will initially open to traffic on three of its four sides. The south extension from SR 125 to Taumarson Road will remain closed until after a Thursday, June 18, ribbon cutting ceremony.
The ribbon cutting ceremony will be held at 9 a.m. at the internal roundabout that will be the future access point for retail and housing development.
Guests can access the event and guest parking area via Taumarson Road or Highland Road, the city said.
The $13 million project was paid for by grants and a Public Works Board loan. The revenue from a Tax Increment Area established by the Walla Walla City Council will help repay the loan.
