Delta Air Lines reduces flights from Seattle to Mexico

Delta Air Lines is reducing its flights from Seattle to several destinations in Mexico this summer and fall.

The airline will pause or scale back flights from Seattle-Tacoma International Airport to Cancún, Los Cabos and Puerto Vallarta between June and November, according to a statement Monday. Delta's changes to these flight services took effect on April 25, and come amid other airlines adjusting flights for the summer as jet fuel prices soar due to the Iran war.

Delta said there will be no Seattle-Cancun service from June 2 through Nov. 8. Flights to Los Cabos will be available only on Saturdays from June 2 through June 30 and will stop July 1 through Nov. 8. Seattle-Puerto Vallarta flights will not operate from Oct. 6 through Nov. 8. All three services will resume on Nov. 9, according to the airline.

Affected customers will be contacted about alternate options, Delta said. Travelers flying out of Sea-Tac can still get to Cancún via Salt Lake City or Atlanta on Delta, or via Mexico City on Aeromexico, according to the airline. Los Cabos and Puerto Vallarta will also remain accessible on Delta via Salt Lake City and Los Angeles.
