Arlington police shoot man in gunfight

Arlington police shot and wounded a 28-year-old man they say fired at them as they responded early Saturday to a domestic disturbance call.

The shooting happened around 4 a.m. at an apartment building in the 8500 block of 212th Street Northeast in Arlington, according to a news release from the Snohomish County Multiple Agency Response Team. The team investigates use-of-force incidents by police.

Officers had developed probable cause for crimes related to domestic violence and asked for help from other agencies, including a SWAT team, according to the news release.

The man was the only person in the apartment and was armed with multiple guns, according to the news release, when he began firing at officers from both inside and outside the unit.

Officers fired back, hitting the man multiple times, according to the Multiple Agency Response Team.

The man was taken to Providence Regional Medical Center and is expected to live, according to the release. No other information on his condition was made available.

The responding officers were not injured and no one else was harmed.
