Net neutrality is more than just a buzzword

I live out in the boonies in Belfair. (You know you live way out there when you live in the rural part of a rural town.) We have one option for Internet and it’s overpriced as it is. Slowly the internet meanders on, attempting to download the video lesson I need to watch for school.

Despite these complications, I make do. It can be difficult, however, as I am a partial online student and as you could imagine I require easy access to the internet. As to why I’m an online student instead of attending “normal” school, I can tell you I didn’t have much of a choice. I have a chronic spine condition that causes me severe migraines and I have to be able to control my schedule and stay home as need be. These days I can go to school fairly regularly, but there are still some classes I need to take online.

This is why net neutrality is important to me, because it affects my studies. I need affordable access to the internet. Please, Senators Cantwell and Murray, vote to keep me learning, Stop the FCC from repealing net neutrality.

Laura Feir, Belfair
