Aliyah Boston Sends 5-Word Message on Massive WNBA Deal
With the WNBA’s new Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA), historic new deals are arriving for some of the league’s top stars, with A’ja Wilson achieving the richest deal, until today.
Earlier on Friday, Aliyah Boston’s agent told ESPN’s Shams Charania, Alexa Philippou, and Kendra Andrews that his client had agreed to a four-year, $6.3 million contract extension with the Indiana Fever. That gave Boston the richest total salary in the WNBA so far, thanks to the new CBA.
Earlier this month, a report arrived that the Las Vegas Aces’ Wilson signed a historic three-year, $5 million supermax contract extension. So far, these two WNBA stars have achieved the biggest deals ahead of the new season, which officially begins May 8.

As one might expect, Boston was excited over her new deal, as the contract extension made major headlines on ESPN and elsewhere on Friday evening.
Soon after Shams Charania shared the news on X, Boston reacted to his post with a five-word message to celebrate the announcement.
“God is greatttt let's gooooo,” she wrote, including several raised hands emojis.

Based on ESPN’s report, Boston is earning $1 million this year, below the standard $1.19 million max deal she was eligible for. She chose to take this amount to allow the Fever to pay others on the roster.
However, starting in the 2027 season, she’ll earn 20 percent of the cap in each of her seasons through 2029. All of that speaks volumes about how the team felt she was worthy of this contract based on her performances.
Indiana made her the No. 1 pick in 2023, and since then, she’s averaged 14.5 points, 8.5 rebounds, and three assists for the Fever. She helped power her squad through the WNBA Playoffs, nearly reaching the WNBA Finals, before losing to the eventual champion Aces.
Boston was sixth overall in the WNBA MVP voting and received All-Defensive and All-WNBA second team honors for her past season. This contract extension seems to open the door for others to follow as the league embraces its new salary structure.
Many will wonder if Clark will earn more than her teammate under the new CBA. She’s eligible for free agency in 2027, but under the new CBA, her salary for the 2026 season will go from $85,973 to $528,846. In her final season before restricted free agency in 2027, she will get $597,596.
