Transfer Speculation Is Swirling Again For Oregon QB Dylan Raiola

Dylan Raiola transferred from Nebraska to Oregon this offseason. He'll sit behind Dante Moore in 2026 before taking over as the Ducks' starter in 2027. That's the plan, anyway.

A new one could be emerging.

Texas Tech is probably going to be in need of a quarterback. Red Raiders quarterback Brendan Sorsby is on indefinite leave from the program. He's undergoing treatment for gambling addiction. The NCAA is investigating Sorsby's bets and he could reportedly face a significant suspension - or worse - depending on the findings.

Sorsby, who was reportedly paid $5 million to transfer from Cincinnati to Texas Tech, is probably unlikely to play in 2026. That means that Texas Tech, which is hoping to compete for a Big 12 championship and College Football Playoff berth, is in need of a new quarterback.

Enter: Raiola.

Raiola, who has drawn comparisons to former Texas Tech quarterback Patrick Mahomes, has been mentioned as a possible target for the Red Raiders.

Texas Tech would have to do some serious legal work, as there isn't a current transfer window for college football this spring, but the NCAA has proven in recent years that just about anything is possible.

Fans think Raiola could leave Oregon for Texas Tech

"Dylan raiola gonna transfer tomorrow and start for Texas tech week 1 in place of Brendan sorsby to complete the Patrick mahomes story," one fan speculated.

"With the Brendan Sorsby situation, here's a first look at Dylan Raiola in a Texas Tech uniform 😂," one fan added.

"Raiola is going to force his way to Texas Tech," one added.

"Raiola has a chance to do the funniest thing," another fan wrote.

Again, a transfer is unlikely, though knowing Raiola, it's something that he could at least consider. The quarterback, dating back to high school, has transferred five times already.
