Joy Taylor Lands New Job Months After Leaving Fox Sports

It's been almost a year since Joy Taylor said her goodbyes to Fox Sports. But after months of planning, she's back with a new sports media job.

On Tuesday, Taylor announced the launch of The Daily Play, a micro-podcast of five to 10 minute episodes covering major sports stories with some of her opinions mixed into the reports. The podcast will be a part of the Urban One Podcast Network.

"I wanted to create something fast, focused, and always authentic. Sports fans are busy, but they want the context behind the conversation. With The Daily Play, I'm giving them what it means and what to watch next-in just a few minutes," Taylor said in a statement, via Barrett Media. "Joining Urban One allows me to talk directly to a loyal, engaged audience across the country. I'm excited to get back to my radio roots!"

Taylor and Fox Sports

Taylor joined Fox in 2016 and left in 2025 several months after being named as a defendant in a lawsuit from a former FS1 hairstylist. She had been the host of the TV show Speak since 2021 following years as a member of Undisputed and The Herd.

At the time, Taylor was let go as part of a general shakeup at the network that saw several other prominent names axed from Fox Sports' media apparatus. Taylor has vehemently denied that there was any correlation between the lawsuit and her departure from Fox Sports.

The reaction to news of Taylor's return to sports media has been less than warm to say the least. Given some of the stories that came out about Taylor's time at Fox amid the lawsuit, it almost isn't surprising that her announcement has been met with widespread mockery.

The timing also could probably be better given that it comes right on the heels of the Dianna Russini scandal.

But if Taylor has found a niche that she enjoys and can make a nice career out of it, then all the better for her.
